Hi! I’m Katie Riley. And yes, that was me singing “Take Me Home Country Road” at full volume while upside down in those 3 bridge poses. Did you dig those harmonies about the levy being dry in shoulder stand? And I really surprised myself that I could count steady breaths while simultaneously welcoming people to the hotel California.
You see, for most of my life Sundays have been Church ministry days for me — where I love on people who seek, where I sing to heal heavy hearts, help young people find their voices, and rejoice in the love of something unshakeable. Not really unlike other days of my life; but on Sundays, usually inside of a church.
But, right now I need a break — so your Hot Rock n Flow class is my Church experience today. Which means I’m gonna sing or hum along; which means I’m gonna pray in Warrior 2; and which means I’m gonna let all that Divine light flow right here through crescent lunge. Not really unlike other days of my life; but today being Sunday, I’m going to do it inside of this yoga studio during your class.
This hour means an incredible amount to me.
Thank you for supporting my practice. Thank you for thanking me for singing. Thank you for telling me that you enjoy my energy. Thank you for asking me to return. Thank you for allowing me to create in this space. And thank you for welcoming my God, too.
